It is so fun to see kids in their costumes. People must put a lot of time and money into some of them. I was lucky to get Niklas into his, and he refused to wear the hat I made (out of some scrap flannel). Here is one picture that I got with the hat on, sorry it is blury but I had to get it fast. And the bee was already buzzing her way to the party.

We walked around to see what little booths they had. There was not much for young children so we headed to the refreshments. That was a MISTAKE!

Jenna is a messy eater and I had to clean up the floor around her. Both kids got on a sugar high. But we soon found something for them to do.
Jenna had fun, but Niklas was the real athlete and made a whole in one! You will notice in this picture that the face of the pumkin on Niki is now a bit scarier--he pulled out the eye balls!

After a while we did the trunk or treats in the parking lot. It was even nice weather! I couldn't believe some of the big kids brought duffle bags for their loot! We are going to use what we got for when the German kids (and a few Americans) come to our house on Halloween.
Great costumes ;-)
Posted by: Chris at October 26, 2006 07:00 PMWhat fun! Our Trunk-o-Treat was last night too. We have no idea where all the people & kids came from! It must be true that Halloween is becoming more popular than Christmas. Mary Poppins and Ninja Turtle accompanied us to the church. I think your pictures give a good perspective as to what children see most of the time --- the bottom halves of people! Enjoy the treats. I'm glad to know there are others who like the recycling idea!
Posted by: Dana at October 26, 2006 07:59 PMBTW, the favorite activity at our T-o-T was the frog leaping contest. They had 4 cooperative frogs/toads that kept everyone entertained. At one booth the kids made silly putty. I don't know what all was mixed together except they started with white glue. The kids enjoyed making it in a plastic ziploc bag.
Posted by: Dana at October 26, 2006 08:52 PMHow fun! They look adorable too. If it's any consolation, my son went as Tigger when he was 20 months old, and he wouldn't wear the hood part that had the ears. The only picture I got of him in it shows his hands pulling it off. They still look cute though even when they don't cooperate with the costumes. I can't wait to get my kiddos dressed up this year!
Posted by: Missy at October 26, 2006 10:01 PMOh, you're a saint. I'm tired just looking at those pictures!
And Niklas' morphing creepy-eyed pumpkin was pretty funny . .
Posted by: Meira at October 27, 2006 05:08 PMLast year they had Tunk o Treat in the school yard of Emily's school. Halloween was soon after Katrina and so mnay people where not living in their flood damaged homes. So the school had this for the kids. It was just adoable and the kids loved it! The parents did a great job decorating the trunks of their cars! LOL at Niki! You always have a story to tell about him! :) He is too cute!
